Bantam, 2018-2019 (Grand Valley Minor Hockey)

Coaches Jamie Peeling and Darryl Bell have got their Grand Valley Bantam Twisters firing on all cylinders this post-season, and they continued this impressive run with a strong road win over a big, strong, and intimidating Midland team.

Coaches Darryl Bell and Jamie Peeling have got their Bantams playing their best hockey of the season – and at exactly the right time! The Bantams completed their sweep of Elmvale 1 & 2 and looked utterly dominant in the process.  There is no question, the other team’s scouts will have ominous news after witnessing these routs.

The Bantam Twisters Hosted a very successful Hockey Sock Gnome Night Fundraiser on February 5th at the arena. The objective was to pay for the year-end tournament at the end of March, and the Bantams are pleased to announce they surpassed that goal!

Game Summary: The Bantam Twisters rolled into Coldwater Saturday afternoon after an extended layoff ready to get the rust off their blades and out of their joints. The parents had luck on their side as the weather cooperated and provided some much-needed sunlight on the, approximately, 1 hour, 36 minute, 27 second drive from Grand Valley. Coach Darryl Bell made the right call by signalling this game was a go – he had been reviewing the Weather Network and 511Roads diligently and knew the previous day’s lake effect squalls had cleared up earlier in the morning.

The Bantam Twisters have just completed the hardest part of their schedule, up against top teams in the past few weeks with back to back games against Shelburne and Flesherton who are battling it out for tops in the league. The games have been fast, furious, and highly entertaining. Below are summary notes about player performance over the past several games where the Bantam Twisters have really gelled as a team.
