Novice White Dominant in 1st Playoff Win!
Novice White started their playoffs out right with a dominating win over the hard hitting Penetang Flames.
The game proved to be a heated affair punctuated by tremendous end-to-end action and high skill plays. Grand Valley Novice White is one of the top teams in the league thanks to their player depth and seasoned coach Kerry Gillard; however, the Penetang Flames came to play, and clearly had a highly tactical game plan in place. In fact, halfway through the third, it could have been anyone’s game as the Twisters were only up by a goal, leading 5-4.
Just past the mid-way point of the third, as the Grand Valley fans were starting to become visibly concerned, it became evident Coach Gillard's team's superior conditioning, and deeper roster paid dividends as they rallied to score 4 unanswered goals and cap the game off 9-4.
Briar D. was phenomenal on offence and defence throughout the entire game breaking up numerous odd-man rushes and netting a game-changing six (6) goals!
As a reward for her heroic playoff performance, Briar was awarded the Novice White Championship Belt, and all the Twisters celebrated with her on a great start to the playoffs!
