Here We Go!
And So It Begins...
And so it begins, we're back at the rink
Wearing coats, boots and no time to rethink,
Our decision to partake in Canada's sport.
This Peewee team has all our love and support!
Players that are seasoned and also new,
This group of boys know what they must do.
Practice their skills and giving their all,
Celebrate the gains no matter how big or small.
The first two games came and went.
They played hard and didn't relent.
A single goal from Jongkind and Park,
Put us on the board and we left a mark.
Although the games didn't go in their favour,
These boys showed grit and didn't waiver.
They fought hard and worked out their kinks,
To prepare for game 3 and break their 6-1 jinx.
Georgian Shores arrived in the Valley.
They looked big and ready to rally.
Shaking hands, you could hear a pin drop.
Until the buzzer sounds, the Twisters won't stop.
The whistle blows, the visitors score first,
But Agar and Bell retaliate, breaking the curse!
End of the first, Georgian ties the game.
Penalties ensued, the next period wasn't tame.
Jongkind, Taylor, and Barber each scored one,
Hatcher was a wall and couldn't be undone.
Kellam, Park, and Penfold put heat on the net,
So Jordan could score, his first as of yet!
Cassidy, Cunningham, and Martin stood guard,
Along with Stewart & Haroon who skated hard.
Two more goals from Barber and Bell,
Ended this game as we bid Georgian farewell.
Jackson was missed with an injury unforseen
If he played, imagine what the score could have been!
Congrats to the players, and coaches too
Who give up their time, and some; THANK YOU!
So yes, this was a win with a nice high score,
And I'm sure there will be many encores,
But it's so much more than just the win,
This team has heart and perseverance within!
