Grand Valley Minor Hockey is very excited to announce that Cal Wild of the Brampton Beast will be joining us at the arena on Monday, February 8th, 2016 to run our development session, along-side our current instructor Rob Orr.
Recently having retired due to injury, Cal now runs hockey camps and clinics in the GTA.
Wild is a solid two-way centre, a face-off specialist and a fierce competitor. The 27-year-old native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, is also a leader off the ice, founding the Cal's Pals community outreach program in support of local organizations and charities, including the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peel and the local chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. In his last season in the Central Hockey League, Wild was presented with the prestigious CHL Man of the Year award, which celebrates a player who demonstrates formidable leadership qualities while making significant contributions to his community. Wild also recognized as the ECHL community player of the year in the 2015-16 season. Wild plans to continue and grow his community efforts in the upcoming year.
