PEEWEE Champs!
Tournament Day!

GV loves hockey and all it involves
Especially a 12-1 win against the Wolves!
But it's not about the number of goals scored
It's the team's heart that can't be ignored

As we headed into tournament day,
Up first was Milton looking ready to play.
But Agar scored first; Kellam's goal came next
Leaving our opponents completely perplexed

Game two was Wasaga; their skill unknown
Our defense kept that puck out of our zone
Stewart, Martin, Cassidy, Penfold, Cunningham, & Jackson too
Barber & Agar (a goal each) saw us through!

Semi-finals against Essa; our toughest yet
Were looking for a win to repay a debt
What seemed like the longest game ever
Ended up being our biggest endeavour!

Taylor, Jordan, & Park had some shots on net
Bell found the hole but was promptly met
Goals from Barber & Bell were answered again
Our boys held on though and didn't wane

As it headed into overtime, we held our breath
3 on 3 for five minutes; sudden death!
Nobody could watch; it got so intense
The team's perseverance was so immense

The crowd got louder; how would this end?
Full of patience, the team continued to defend
Waiting for their moment to seal the deal
Finally Jongkind scored; the crowd did squeal!

So here we are facing Midland in the finals
The boys were nervous, there was no denial
Midland was also undefeated for the day
But the Twisters planned to have the final say

Our boys played hard and didn't let up
They could taste the drink from that shiny cup
Each boy deserves a special mention herein
But Hatcher especially with the shut-out win!

The team's sticks and gloves went flying
Parents cheered; their support undying
To some it may seem this win came with ease
But it's what comes from within that nobody sees

Our boys showed grace, gratitude, and grit
They didn't give up, not one little bit
No matter what happens here-on out
This day will be in the history books, no doubt!

Thanks to all the parents and coaches too
For organizing, encouraging, and everything else you do!
