On The Edge of Our Seats!
At Grand Valley arena facing Honeywood; once again
Even though it's cold and foggy, we can't complain
These AtoMc Girls and boys keep getting better
Even the grandparents are wearing Twister sweaters
On the edge of our seats thinking, "How will this end?"
They play as a team and on each other depend
And so the game begins with a face off to start
but Honeywood is quick and gets a big jumpstart
As the first period ends the visitors lead
The forwards work hard and increase their speed
Deep in the corners the defense dig out the puck
And pass it up with more skill than luck
A goal from Taylor puts us on the board
And as the game continues we can't be ignored
Park with a hat trick puts us ahead in the game
4-3 is the score and the crowd goes insane
The clock seems to be so much slower this day
Holding our breath each time the puck is in play
Honeywood crosses the blue line with the net insight
Our players and goalie put up a good fight
To no avail the puck slides into the net
A tied up game and boy did we fret
6 minutes left, anything could happen
One thing for sure this team has passion
They shut down any chances Honeywood had
Kudos to Hatcher for making saves with his pads
The GV crowd was cheering, "Just one more!"
It would be amazing to have another winning score
The buzzer went, a tied game for the books
Don't be mistaken, it's not as it looks
There were no tears, sadness or one scowling face
As this team truly won with their grit, gratitude and grace!
