The Atom LL played their hearts out in the Ayton tournament today. The Twisters came on strong in their first game, winning 5-2. They showed great skill and teamwork. The second game was a rough one. With few penalties called, they fought to tie it up, only to lose in the last few minutes. Holding our breath we waited anxiously for the last round robin game to play, which would determine our next game - Consolation or Championship. On to the Championship finals we headed with great anticipation and excitement to face Center Wellington(CW). The Twisters held them off for most of the 1st period and tried to catch up to a 2-0 lead by CW. They just couldn't keep up the momentum they had at the beginning of the day, and Center Wellington took the Championship. Even though our team was disappointed, they swarmed their goalie and huddled. They should be proud of themselves for they played some "great" hockey. Second best...champions in our hearts!!
