A Great Twisters Game
The game is about to start, T minus 10,
The crowd is on their feet,
Cheering the Twisters once again.
The players appear on the ice,
The boys we love and cherish,
Skate on after each other.
The clock is set, first period begins,
The puck is thrown in mid-air,
On their minds a much needed win.
From player to player, they pass around the puck,
Agar controls it at the end of his stick
He shoots on net, and hits the mark!
Second period begins and it’s a 1-0 game.
The puck reaches Park and on to Jongkind
But the opposing goalie holds strong.
A penalty called, Twisters have a one man advantage,
It’s a two-minute powerplay.
The other team takes the puck and scores; 1-1
If they play wisely, things just might go their way.
A cluster of players block the net,
It seems an impossible shot
But it goes through, Agar scores again! 2-1
The fans are optimistic, parents hold their breath.
The players are back and the final period is underway,
Cheering our boys on, “Don’t give up!”
Martin, Cassidy, Jackson, MacDonald, Cunnigham, McComb keep the puck going
Strong defence, fighters till the end.
Jongkind, Park, Leskey, Agar, Broniek push forward finding a way to the net.
Players from both ends are restless and determined.
Agar finds the net, HAT TRICK!!
The goalie looks back and the ref marks the spot. Score is now 3-1
Last two minutes of the game, a penalty is called,
Twisters are one man short. Heartbeats are racing…
Peeling feels the pressure and makes some ninja moves,
Empty net, the puck is loose, players chase.
The buzzer goes, Twisters swarm the goalie.
The boys in white-green-black deserve this win tonight!
